📚 WE DID IT! READ-A-THON FUNDRAISING UPDATE: Thanks to the incredible generosity of our RLC students, families, and friends, we’ve already reached our $500 Read-A-Thon fundraising goal! THANK YOU for your amazing support. We have a new STRETCH GOAL OF $800.
Get Your Forms Turned In: Tracking and Donation Forms (& Donations) are due by the end of our Movie Event on Thursday, October 29th in order for students to be considered for prizes. Remember prizes are awarded based on minutes read, not donations. Since we’ve met our $500 Fundraising Goal we’ll have our school-wide celebration.
Every donation helps support the RLC PTSA’s mission and goals, including our movie night license fee, senior scholarships, graduation support, and so much more. Thank you for helping us make a difference in our RLC community. Let’s keep the momentum going and see if we can reach that $800 stretch goal together.
Below are some important reminders for the week of October 26th-29th.
READ-A-THON: The last day to record minutes was Friday, 10/23. Please return your Read-A-Thon Forms by Thursday, October 29th. Prizes will be based on minutes read, not donations. If we reach the all-school fundraising goal of $500, we’ll have a school-wide celebration! Your donation(s), no matter how big or small, help us fund part of our movie license, senior scholarships, and more! THANK YOU!
MOVIE NIGHT: The Super Mario Galaxy World: Join us next Thursday October 29th for an out of this world adventure with Mario and the whole gang. Doors open at 5:30. Movie begins at 6:00 pm. Bring your comfiest setups (chairs, pillows, blankets, etc.) and enjoy FREE popcorn courtesy of Regal Bella Bottega. Water will also be available. Special thanks to Eastside Property Solutions for sponsoring our movie licensing and making this FREE event possible! Fundraising Goals: Our goal is to raise $500 as a school. These funds will help cover licensing fees for our movie nights. Any extra funds raised will go toward supporting other RLC PTSA programs that align with our mission. Every student is encouraged to read and celebrate their progress, regardless of how much money they raise.
Prizes: Yes, there will be prizes! The top reader in each group (K-2nd, 3rd-4th, 5th-8th, and 9th-12th) will receive a $10 gift card*. The second top reader will receive a $5 gift card*. *Students may choose from: CC’s Espresso and Ice Cream, Kelsey’s Koffee, Darci’s Dinky Donuts or Starbucks. Prizes will not be based on donations raised.
Donations & Matching: RLC PTSA is a registered non-profit organization. Some employers offer donation matching programs. Ask your donors to check if their employers will match their gifts and help double their impact.

Today, October 5th, is your last chance to PreOrder Pottery for our Pottery Event in November. Visit this link to submit order + payment by end of day: Pottery PreOrder.
Why are we asking you to purchase now when the event isn’t until November? We need time to order the pieces and have them arrive by our event date(s).
The best part of preordering? You know the pieces you want will be waiting for you whenever you arrive! You can still purchase additional pieces at the event. Plus every piece you purchase helps RLC PTSA continue our mission of supporting the RLC Community.
Our annual Pottery Event is coming up! Pre-Ordering for larger and more elaborate bisqueware pieces opens today, September 24th, through October 5th. Find the order form and instructions here: 2026 Pre-Order Form or scan the QR code on the flyer below.
There will also be plenty of bisqueware pieces to choose from at the event, from little tots to dinnerware to figurines and more. Pre-ordering is a great option if you’d like to create a larger or more detailed piece for a gift, home décor, or simply for the joy of creating!
2026 POTTERY PRE-ORDER OPTIONS
Pre-Orders are due by end of day on October 5th and must be paid in advance. Many pre-order pieces will not be available for purchase at the event. Your pre-ordered pieces will be reserved for your family and available at the Pre-Orders Table.
2026 Pottery Event Details
NEW this year: We’re offering two different days and times to participate, so you can choose the option that works best for your family—or join us for both!
- Thursday: November 19 | 5–8 PM | MPR
- Friday: November 20 | 9–11 AM | MPR
RLC PTSA provides all materials needed to paint your pottery. All painting must be completed during the event. We’ll handle glazing, firing, and wrapping, with finished pieces ready for pickup before Winter Break.

Interested in an opportunity to support RLC Staff? RLC PTSA is proud to sponsor the RLC Staff Snack Cart, a “staff perk” we started around two years ago to provide a little pick-me-up for our wonderful staff throughout the school year! We’d love to continue this tradition and could use your help keeping the cart stocked.
The snack cart is refilled at the beginning of each week, September–June, and we welcome donations throughout the year so we have items on hand to restock as needed. Please consider donating one of our regularly stocked items, or feel free to donate other shelf-stable snacks you think our staff might enjoy. You can sign up at any time: Staff Snack Cart Sign Up.

- Donations may be dropped off in the donation bin in the RLC lobby area. If needed, item pick up can be arranged.
- All items must be shelf stable.
- Individually wrapped items preferred.
- Please consider including gluten-free and nut-free options.
Don’t have time to shop? Let us do it for you! You may donate funds to go towards the purchase of snack items.
- Donate at rlcptsa.givebacks.com. Choose the ‘Donate Now’ product and specify Staff Snack Cart as the intended donation purpose.
- Drop off cash or a check made out to RLC PTSA in the RLC PTSA Drop Box located in the RLC lobby. Please use an envelope provided on top of the drop box and specify Staff Snack Cart.

Cookies, Ice Cream & Curriculum! Join us Thursday, September 17 from 6:00–8:00 PM in the RLC MPR for a night of (free!) sweet treats, school updates, and a peek into what your kids are doing all day.
6:00 PM — RLC PTSA General Membership Meeting with Sweet Treats because meetings are better with cookies & ice cream! We’ll be voting on updated standing rules, presenting our 2025-26 financial audit, and sharing the latest updates. Remember, only active RLC PTSA Members may vote on PTSA business at the meeting. There’s still plenty of time to join – either through givebacks (rlcptsa.givebacks.com) or in person at the meeting. If cost is a barrier, there are membership subsidies available.
7:00 PM — Visit classrooms for Curriculum Information.
Come for the cookies and ice cream. Stay for the curriculum. It’s one school night where “extra credit” comes in the form of dessert!

Why are most events held on Thursdays? We understand that Thursday evenings may not be the most convenient for everyone. However, in partnership with RLC, we schedule most events on Thursdays to help accommodate staffing and logistical considerations.
